FIRST Scotland East has performed a u-turn on its controversial plans to relocate a bus depot to Bridgeness Road, Bo’ness, in a move that has been welcomed by local representatives.

The bus firm confirmed this week that, despite getting planning approval for its flit to leased land on DJ Manning Auctioneers’ site, it is to stay in Linlithgow.

It was to park, refuel and wash up to 15 buses at the new site.

But now due to changes just announced in its bus service operator grant from the Scottish Government, it has had to review the best operating base for its business needs.
