Pink shop in South Queensferry makes locals see red

A SHOP in Queensferry's historic High Street has come under fire from locals after its exterior received a multi-coloured paint job.

The premises in question (pictured) lies within Queensferry's Conservation Area but has recently been painted pink, orange and yellow. The exterior of the general store, formerly the Bellstane Cafe, was originally blue but the new owners have painted it in colours not in keeping with a listed building and within a conservation area.

After complaints from the town's community council and Queensferry councillor Norman Work, the city council has notified the owner that the shop must be re-painted more appropriately.
