New hospital to cover Bo'ness unveiled
HEALTH chiefs this week revealed details of a new Falkirk Community Hospital which will treat Bo'ness and Blackness patients.
Its location will be the current Falkirk District Royal Infirmary site, with up to 100 inpatient beds and outpatient services like rehabilitation, palliative care and speech therapy.
This August a new 300m, 860-bed Forth Valley Royal Hospital is due to open in Larbert, housing accident and emergency plus specialist theatres, kidney dialysis and a cancer unit. It will replace acute services currently provided by Falkirk Royal and Stirling Royal Infirmaries.
The new Falkirk Community Hospital, costing 9 million, will be a mixture of custom-designed new buildings and the more modern existing sections of the current Falkirk Royal.
