Linlithgow bin bag backlog is being cleared

BIN MEN went on strike last Friday in greater numbers than expected.

Ninety three staff in Waste Services and Street Cleansing took industrial action after pay talks with West Lothian Council broke down.

It was originally thought that 46 workers would be involved in the action, which the GMB Union said last week was due to workers losing pay over their jobs being downgraded. They also said there was the possibility of further strike action in the future, but that they were prepared to negotiate with the council.
