A BO'NESS singer is all set to play Paul McCartney at the International Beatles Week event in Liverpool – Capital of Culture 2008.
Dougie Orr (38) and his tribute band "The Getback Band" will play eight gigs over the coming week.

Dates will include the world famous Cavern Club, The Adelphi Ballroom, The Rubber Soul Club and Cromptons plus much more.

The Liverpool promoters have also booked the tribute band to play on The Ferry Across The Mersey tours throughout the week, which is scheduled to begin today (Friday).

It is expected Beatles fanatics and more than 100 bands from all over the world will converge on the city to celebrate the Fab Four.

Dougie, who appeared in ITV's "Stars in Your Eyes", was also a member of a band which once played in Moscow's Red Square.

The Getback Band is a five-piece outfit, made up of musicians from across Central Scotland.

Combining his job as a chef with Falkirk Council, Dougie has toured with the band across Europe.

He said this week: "The highlight for me will be playing at the famous Cavern Club where the Beatles first started off – a real piece of nostalgia."
