Submitted by Bo'ness man Bob Simpson, of School Brae, it depicts members of the public taking part in the pram race event in which contestants had to race around the town centre and stop off at each pub en route for a half pint of beer.
The photograph was taken at Market Square and the building in the background is what is now Branches.
The Flintstones pram (pictured left) features Ronnie Christie and his brother Tony and was built by Bobby Simpson with the outfits designed by Anne Simpson.
Amongst the spectators are Jock Brown, Adam Rintoul, Johnny Johnston and late Journal and Gazette photographer Bob Wallace.

Around 1200 employees at Queensferry's Hewlett Packard plant have been urged to take as many holidays as possible over the next few months. The Queensferry subsidiary of the giant American-based company is experiencing an economic downturn.
Parents were mad this week as they are not getting the Low Port Primary School annexe roof replaced for another two years, despite a promise that the work would be carried out by this May. The Low Port PTA hope to enlist the support of MP Tam Dalyell and regional councillor Melville Gray to get it replaced sooner.
Bo'ness swimming ace Derna Campbell enjoyed more success when she competed in the Scottish Long Course at the Commonwealth Pool last week. Derna was second in the 200m breaststroke and third in the 100m breaststroke.
50 years agoCity clerk of Winnipeg, Canada's sixth largest city, George Lindsay Gardner, whose father was born in Corbiehall, will visit his birthplace for the first time in 47 years, for six weeks. He went to Canada at 11 and four years later started as a junior clerk at city hall.
Savings of £11,792 in the county council scheme of replacing back-to-back gates with modern ones was reported to the county housing committee in Linlithgow. The scheme spreads the work over three years at a total cost of £32,516, against an original estimate of £44,308.
At 4am on Tuesday, James Battison (80), proprietor of the old inn at Linlithgow Bridge, was awakened by his house door being forced open. Three men entered and two were masked with towels. Taking the key for the safe from his pocket, they stole around £150 in cash. He says he may now arm himself.
