Take a trip down memory lane in Bo'ness, South Queensferry and Linlithgow
LINLITHGOW man Peter Renton, of Preston Terrace, supplied our picture.
It dates from 1951 and shows pupils of Linlithgow Public School, formerly situated at the West Port. Peter called on local woman Dorothy MacKinlay (nee Kilbride) to help with the names.

From our files of September 30, 1949
*On Saturday morning, Robert Dick (3) of Catherine Terrace was playing on the steps leading to the foreshore when he was swept into the Forth by a wave. Locals dived in and rescued the child who was on the sea bottom and revived him.
*At a meeting at Kinneil on Sunday, the oncost workers taking part in the country-wide strike decided to return to work on Tuesday. The men stopped work for a week to protest against the wage gap between themselves and coal face workers.
*At Linlithgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday, Hugh Brown pleaded guilty to having stolen a suit of clothes and a fountain pen from 154 West Main Street, Broxburn. He admitted four previous convictions for similar offences and was given 60 days' imprisonment.
*With their forward line thrown out of gear by the inclusion of two trialists, Whitburn were no match for a much improved United who were worthy winners in last Saturday's League game at Central Park finishing 5-1.
*The Rose were in rampant form at Prestonfield on Saturday slaughtering Forth Rangers 6-1, however the visitors had to play with 10 men for 80 minutes. Rose trialists Waddell of Bathgate St Mary's and McNeish, of Carriden Hearts, showed great promise.

From our files of October 3, 1969
*Work on the fourth and fifth phases of the Grangepans development was held up on Monday when the wheels of 16 barrows were punctured, with the loss of 40 working hours. Police are investigating.
*Staff and pupils at the new Queensferry High School gathered in the hall on Tuesday for the first official school assembly. Rev A.D Stirling at the service said: "The greatest need in the world today is good neighbourliness."
*A local entrant in the Faux Pas Princess contest organised by the Forth Valley Branch of the NUJ is Margaret McKinlay of 80 Borrowstoun Crescent, Bo'ness. Margaret, who is sixteen, would like to be a model and travel abroad.
*Old folk from Clarendon Home, Linlithgow can now enjoy a rest before facing the hill up Manse Road - thanks to a bench provided by the local Round Table. Last week, the Provost's wife, Mrs F. Byrne, accepted the gift on behalf of the town from Round Table chairman Mr D. Bryce.
*Linlithgow Rose, now joint league leaders with local rivals Bo'ness United, put on a lacklustre performance against Camelon on Saturday finishing 1-0 but looking forlorn.
