Take a trip down memory lane in Bo'ness, Linlithgow and South Queensferry
THIS week we join the 9th West Lothian Scout Troop in Sweden, as the clock is wound back to June 1953 – the first time ever a Scout Troop from Bo'ness went on a foreign trip.
The photo, kindly submitted by Peter Aitken, was taken at Boras Station when the lads arrived from Gothenberg after an overnight sailing from Tilbury in London.

Bo'ness Salvation Army Band represented the organisation nationally when they competed at a special festival in Glasgow.
There were fears the Ferry Fair could cease to exist after a regular fundraiser – dancing at the Rosebery Hall – was shelved due to a poor public response.
A special presentation was made to Linlithgow man Edgar Callandar, who retired after 45 years at Lochmill.

One of Linlithgow's most distinguished sons, George Baird, has died. He was nicknamed the "Sporting Provost" as during his term of office in the mid-1960s, the Rose, the County cricket club and Linlithgow Bowling Club all won their Scottish championships.
Residents and businesses in Queensferry are being asked to take part in a campaign, "Between the Bridges", aimed at enhancing the town's character.
