February 16, 1912
FORTY gentlemen gathered in the Clydesdale Hotel, Bo’ness, for a dinner organised by the West Lothian Golf Club, with Captain Liddle in the chair.
THE Rev Mr Cameron of Aberdeen preached from the pulpit at Kirkliston Parish Church on Sunday to a large congregation.
VOCALIST Charles Tree visited Bo’ness to sing with the town’s orchestral society.
It was reported that a large audience enjoyed the programme.
IN A Central League match played at Stirling, Bo’ness were defeated 3-2 by King’s Park. Kinneil Ramblers travel to Tranent on Saturday to conclude their cup tie.

AROUND 70 people accepted an invitation from Bo’ness Town Council to form a society called ‘‘The Friends of Bo’ness Hospital’’.
THE miners’ strike and power crisis has hit hard locally with the G R Stein’s Refractory laying of 300 men.

PLANS for a horticultural club in Queens- ferry fell flat after just one pensioner showed interest in the proposals.

WEST Lothian residents face a 3.5 per cent increase in their council tax on top of a 3.8 per cent rent rise - and an extra £5 a week for kitchen and bathroom refurbishment.
PUPILS at Bo’ness Public School this week set aside their books to pick this year’s children’s fair queen-elect, Emma Docherty.
TWO rookie sailors from Bo’ness cheated death in the Forth this week when their boat capsized. They were picked up by a Fife-based lifeboat.
A STATUE of Mary, Queen of Scots is being proposed for the gardens of Annet House, Linlithgow, as a memorial to Tom McGowran, a former secretary of Linlithgow Heritage Trust.
