Take a trip down memory lane in Bo'nes, Linlithgow and South Queensferry
THIS week's Peep at the Past takes us back to Linlithgow Academy and the class of 1946/7. Submitted by Maureen MacKenzie, of High Street, Linlithgow, it shows the pupils pictured on the grounds of the former Academy, which is now Low Port Primary School.

50 years ago
One of the biggest road-haulage projects ever undertaken in Scotland will begin next month with the transportation of the central 500ft towers of the new Forth Road Bridge. Each weighs over 2600 tons.
The Linlithgow ratepayers' meeting in the Burgh Halls was largely a woman's event and housing problems formed the bulk of the questions. The audience was 75 women to 25 men and the women wanted to know when more houses would be built to meet demand.
The Ferry Fair Queen 1960 is Margaret Sweetman (12), chosen by popular vote at St Margaret's School. Margaret's mother was Ferry Fair Queen 23 years ago and was crowned by Lady Stewart Clark of Dundas Castle. This is the first time a mother and daughter have been Queen.
Bo'ness will be represented at Hampden on Junior Cup Final day by John Smart, the well known referee, who will judge the big game between St Andrews United, and either Greenock Juniors or Adeer.
Linlithgow Rose sailed into the semi-finals of the Murray Cup when they whipped Armadale Thistle 3-0. Rose deserved to win but the Armadale outfit were the poorest to wear the jerseys for years.

Cala Homes wants to build 128 houses close to the Springfield Estate. The 5.5 million project will take four years to complete. Residents in Springfield and nearby Bonnytoun Terrace have reacted angrily to the proposals.
Although there's a difference of 80 years between Christopher Ball (12) and Harry Holwell (92), the former Royal Marines Band conductor enjoyed the playing of the Bo'ness and Carriden Band youngster at St Michael's hospital last week.
Mindless vandals are disturbing the peace at Dalmeny and Queensferry cemetery. Youngsters have knocked over a headstone, dumped rubbish among the graves, smashed bottles on headstones and sprayed graffiti on walls.
11 darts players took part in a 12-hour darts marathon at Linlithgow Rose Supporters Club at Prestonfield. They collected 450 in sponsorship for the special baby unit at Edinburgh Royal.
Bo'ness United took a late victory over second division Penicuik last Wednesday evening. They scored two within the last six minutes of the second half.
